Introducing... Influence Avenue, a board game designed by product designer and college senior, Nick Montesano. This game is inspired by the world of social media and influencers.
The objective is for players to compete to become the most successful influencer by gaining follower, like, and hashtag cash, and completing challenges. The board depicts a vibrant social media city with hashtag and like clouds floating in the air, while you move space by space to gain cash, encounter challenges, or even face jail time!
10 different player pieces, 3D printed by Nick Montesano, represent different styles, items, and influencers inspired by the digital era and age of social media. Each player receives a starting number of followers, likes, and hashtag cash at the game manager's discretion and players take turns rolling the dice and moving around the board. The colorful and vibrant spaces speak for themselves.
The game is simple. Whoever gains the most cash WINS! Gain as much hashtag, like, and follower cash as you can, while overcoming challenges, and you just might win influencer of the game.

Creating Influence Avenue was a fun, but challenging task. Creating something modeled by my favorite game Monopoly was hard because I wanted the game to be as original as possible, but still be a bit modeled off Monopoly to buy, sell, and trade, as well as gain cash. The process of creating Influence Avenue started by designing multiple different game boards, and box covers. I also had to change the infill density, raft, and support features for the twelve 3D printed pieces as I wanted them to be structured enough to be durable for a board game's lifespan, and still look smooth and refined. Creating the box wasn't too challenging, especially after learning measuring and scaling skills from creating Pandemic Panic. Overall, it was really interesting and a unique opportunity to create Influence Avenue, and I hope you can all play it as soon as possible.
